‘Families Ride Free’ on Topeka Metro during Spring Break week

The Topeka Metro bus system in Topeka has announced their 8th Annual Spring Fling/Families Ride Free campaign to take place during Spring Break week. Families can ride all fixed routes free of charge from Monday, March 9 through Saturday, March 14, 2020.

To qualify for the program, a family must consist of 1-2 adults, plus at least 1 child under the age of 18, and must ride the bus to receive offers. Bus operators will have coupon cards with Spring Fling offers to hand out to eligible bus passengers each day the promotion is in effect. A copy of the promotional flyer is available for download here.

Topeka Metro partners with businesses throughout the city of Topeka to provide either free or discounted entertainment and food for families over school spring break.
Participating businesses for 2020 are:

Evel Knievel Museum – 2047 SW Topeka Blvd.

Fuzzy’s Tacos – 2614 SW 17th St.

Hazel Hill Chocolate – 724 S Kansas Ave.

Kansas Children’s Discovery Center – 4400 SW 10th Ave.

Kansas Museum of History – 6425 SW 6th Ave.

NOTO Burrito – 822 N. Kansas Ave.

Potwin Pottery – 5331 SW 22nd Pl.

Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library – 1515 SW 10th Ave.

Topeka Zoo – 635 SW Gage Blvd.

“This promotion is an excellent opportunity for grandparents, parents and children who are not going on a trip over school break to explore some family-friendly establishments together in Topeka,” said Keri Renner, Topeka Metro director of marketing and communications. “We invite families to hop on our clean buses, ask for a coupon sheet, and check out the local entertainment and food places in our city.”

The Topeka Metropolitan Transit Authority (Topeka Metro) was created in 1973 by a vote of the city residents. Over the past four decades, Topeka Metro has grown from a small, privately owned bus service into a transportation solution provider, exploring and implementing transportation opportunities that enhance the social, economic and environmental well-being of the Topeka community. Topeka Metro provided more than 1.3 million passenger trips in Fiscal Year 2019. For more information, see our website at www.topekametro.org.
